The Gut–Skin Axis in Vietnamese Children With Atopic Dermatitis

Vu M, Le T, Nguyen B, et al

This study profiled the gut–skin axis in Vietnamese children with atopic dermatitis by analyzing microbiome composition to better understand microbial contributions to disease pathogenesis. Children with atopic dermatitis demonstrated reduced microbial diversity with specific shifts in both skin and gut microbiota, including increased Staphylococcus and decreased beneficial taxa. These findings support a role for gut–skin microbial interactions in atopic dermatitis and suggest potential targets for microbiome-based interventions.
