Fel d 1-Expressing Plant-Derived Bioparticle for CAT Allergy

This translational preclinical and early-phase clinical study evaluated the allergenicity, immunogenicity, and safety of a novel plant-derived Fel d 1 bioparticle in cat-allergic individuals. Fel d 1 bioparticle demonstrated reduced allergenicity with lower basophil activation and histamine release, while promoting tolerogenic immune responses, including Th1 and regulatory cell induction. These findings support its potential as a safer, disease-modifying alternative for allergen immunotherapy in cat allergy.
