Dose-Finding Study of Barzolvolimab in Patients With Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria

Metz M, Mitha E, Leflein J, et al

This randomized, dose-finding clinical trial evaluated the safety, pharmacodynamics, and efficacy of barzolvolimab (an anti-KIT monoclonal antibody) in patients with chronic spontaneous urticaria inadequately controlled by standard therapy. Barzolvolimab demonstrated significant clinical activity, with dose-dependent reductions in urticaria symptoms and evidence of mast cell suppression, while maintaining an acceptable safety profile. These findings support targeting KIT and mast cells as a promising therapeutic strategy for refractory chronic spontaneous urticaria.
