Amniotic membrane regenerative healing treatments (amnion allografts) can be very effective in repairing diabetic foot wounds, surgical incisions, anterior conjunctival issues, and gingival recession. Their mechanisms of action are very complementary to the natural healing processes of the human body. Using amnion allografts for wound treatment can result in a more organized healing process with less visible scarring.

The major advantage of amniotic membrane therapy is the ability of the allografts to attract stem cells to the region of the wound in order to rebuild damaged tissues. This is much easier to accomplish than trying to capture specific cells and then apply them directly to the site of the injury or wound.
