Published final results of the DeCOG-SLT trial add evidence that patients who have a positive sentinel lymph-node biopsy, and have immediate complete lymph node dissection, do not achieve superior survival compared with observation. These results, published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, bore resemblance to data from the Multicenter Selective Lymphadenectomy Trial (MSLT-II), published in the New England Journal of Medicine two years earlier.
