A retrospective study’s multivariate analysis suggests that in the treatment of early invasive melanoma, the use of Mohs micrographic surgery is associated with better outcomes when compared with traditional excision. Due to advances in immunostaining, the traditional risk of Mohs surgery may be mitigated. Mohs surgery also offers the same rates of recurrence and survival of traditional excision surgery.
