Microchip Can Immediately Detect Presence of Zika Virus

A new device can immediately detect the Zika virus in tiny amounts of bodily fluid.

The microchip’s diagnostic ability is currently being tested in Zika-infected primates. Quick detection is paramount with viruses, as antiviral medications are most effective earlier in the course of the disease.
