Atopic dermatitis (AD) affects more than 31 million people in the United States, about 1 in 10, and it remains underestimated and underappreciated for its impact.

The State of AD Symposium is the launch event for the State of AD National Indicator Report, the first comprehensive national and state-level estimates of AD burden. Leading experts, including researchers, public health experts, and patient advocates, discuss what the data reveals and what it means for care, access, and outcomes.

AD is a US-wide issue, and the findings show every state has something to improve. This is the starting point for the State of AD initiative, which will begin with a focus on 10 states, with the goal of reaching all 50.
