For the inaugural Macaran A. Baird, MD, Lecture in Family Medicine and Community Health Leadership, Jehni Robinson, MD, chair and clinical professor of the Department of Family Medicine and associate dean of primary care at Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, discussed the topic of “street medicine.” Dr Robinson provides a definition of street medicine and explains why it adds value to health care, including how it may be a tool for addressing structural racism in medicine. She also outlines a strategy for starting a street medicine program.
