Meet Team BabyBe. The BabyBe is a system that has a sensor that detects a mother’s heartbeat in real-time, replicating the mother’s movement within a bionic mattress. The system mimics the feeling of a baby being close to its mother and transmitting her touch to help promote faster healing. When the BabyBe system was used on an actual newborn, it helped calm him, improve his blood pressure, and regulate his heart rate. The creators hope to see the BabyBe being used in every NICU, and on all premature newborns.
