Healthcare Providers Are Not Immune to Mental Health Crises

Jenny C. Yip, PsyD, ABPP, shares advice for HCPs who may be struggling with anxiety or depression as a result of months of practicing medicine and managing personal and/or family life during the COVID-19 pandemic. According to a recent report in Forbes, 1 in 2 adults report suffering from anxiety and/or depression during this pandemic; this includes healthcare professionals treating patients infected with coronavirus, or treating patients experiencing anxiety or depression due to the uncertainty or medical/financial/social issues created by the health crisis. Some resources cited by Dr. Yip include information available from NAMI Frontline Wellness and the Anxiety and Depression Association of America.
