Fewer Adults Dying in African Countries That Received US Financial Support for AIDS Relief

Treatment, education and prevention have been the focus of the United States when it comes to addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Africa. In 2003, the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief or PEPFAR began targeting several African countries, providing funding to fight the disease.
