Brain Mapping Before and During Surgery in Near Real-Time

Alexandra Golby, MD, principal investigator and professor of Neurosurgery and Radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, discusses new imaging methods meant to reduce the complications of planning and performing brain surgeries. The research team is developing and improving a brain-mapping technology that visualizes the brain’s neural tracts to help create individualized surgery plans for each patient.
