A new palm-sized device set for release in Europe can detect common pathogens in minutes.
The Polish researchers who created the device, known as the SensDx, believe it can reduce wait times and unnecessary antibiotics use. Turnaround time for diagnosing common diseases—the current model detects pathogens for strep throat and influenza—is about four minutes.
