Rafael Barrera, MD, Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Long Island Jewish (LIJ) Medical Center in New York, explains how human error derived from pharmacy-mixed total parenteral nutrition (TPN) can increase the probability for complications as a result of taking the medicine.
