Lukas, MD, associate chief, neuro-oncology division, Malnati Brain Tumor Institute, Northwestern University, Chicago, IL, discusses current and emerging research on the use of immunotherapy and oncolytic viruses for the treatment of glioblastoma. Viral therapies hold much promise, and to date, can be delivered safely in patients. Dr Lukas noted that currently published trials are early phase and therefore must be interpreted with caution.
