During the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, reports of sexually transmitted infections decreased due to disruptions to health care and sexually transmitted infections testing services. Reduced access to testing and diagnoses may have led some people to unwittingly spread infection. As clinics reopen, infection rates are again on the rise.
