Charles E. Argoff, MD, Professor of Neurology and Director of the Comprehensive Pain Center, Albany Medical Center, describes new guidelines for pain management in geriatrics. The most reasonable suggestions of these include topical therapies and opioids. The problems of such guidelines are that they do not target the individual patient.
