Join Drs. Thomas Heinrich and Jerry Halverson in this episode of CME in Cars as they help healthcare providers understand the impact of quality measures on clinical practice, and the benefit of adhering to evidence-based guidelines in care for patients with MDD.

Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of health care professionals involved in the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with major depressive disorder (MDD).

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be better able to do the following:

  • Summarize the three NCQA HEDIS measures associated with MDD, and their application to clinical practice.
  • Describe the benefit of incorporating evidence-based guidelines for screening, rating and monitoring into clinical practice, particularly for patients who are at risk for cardiovascular disease.
  • Characterize the metabolic risk associated with atypical antipsychotics and describe effective management of medical comorbidities.

Method of Participation

There are no fees for participating and receiving CME credit for this activity. To claim credit, participants must complete the following:

  • Read the educational objectives, accreditation information, and faculty disclosures at the beginning of this activity.
  • Complete the pre-test.
  • View the webcast.
  • Complete the post-test and evaluation.
  • Physicians who receive a grade of 75% or better on the post-test and complete the evaluation will receive a CME certificate.
  • All other participants who receive a grade of 75% or better on the post-test and complete the evaluation will receive a Certificate of Participation.
