Early Fluid Resolution With High-Dose Aflibercept

Kelvin Teo, MBBS, PhD, senior consultant, Advanced Eye Clinic & Surgery, adjunct associate professor, Duke NUS Eye ACP, Singapore, presents real-world data showing that a single 8-mg dose of intravitreal aflibercept leads to rapid anatomical improvements in neovascular AMD, with a high rate of early fluid resolution on OCT. Professor Teo also notes that patients achieved meaningful reductions in central macular thickness and many eyes reached a dry macula within the first month. The procedure was well tolerated in this clinical setting, supporting the potential of high-dose aflibercept to speed up fluid resolution.
