Overview

This Expert Exchange webcast provides learners with real-world application of best practices in the management of patients with bipolar disorder.

Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of health care professionals involved in the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with bipolar disorder.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be better able to do the following:

  • Employ current screening and diagnostic criteria for bipolar disorders.
  • Address substance abuse disorders and medical comorbidities in BD patients by introducing coordinated care across providers.
  • Utilize self-efficacy scores and HQRoL measures to identify patients with functional disability or at risk of functional disability.
  • Apply clinical decision-making strategies to address non-adherence including the potential role of long acting injectable antipsychotics.

Method of Participation

There are no fees for participating and receiving CME credit for this activity. To claim credit, participants must complete the following:

  • Read the educational objectives, accreditation information, and faculty disclosures at the beginning of this activity.
  • Complete the pre-test.
  • View the webcast.
  • Complete the post-test and evaluation.
  • Physicians who receive a grade of 75% or better on the post-test and complete the evaluation will receive a CME certificate.
  • All other participants who receive a grade of 75% or better on the post-test and complete the evaluation will receive a Certificate of Participation.
