In this episode of the QD Clinic, Jack Cush, MD, discusses how to wean steroids. Steroids are the greatest and worst drugs in rheumatology. Long-term steroid use will lead to weight gain, diabetes, infections, hair loss, and other issues, which is important to tell patients so that it may be easier to wean. If a patient is on steroids for less than 6 weeks, it is unnecessary to wean.
