The Oncology / Hematology Channel
Physicians at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences successfully managed a pregnancy in a patient with Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH), a rare blood disorder. Despite the high risk of thrombosis, the patient received treatment including low molecular weight heparin, aspirin, and steroids to control hemolysis. She delivered a healthy baby girl and continues to receive treatment post-delivery. This case represents a rare success for PNH patients during pregnancy, as such outcomes are infrequently reported.
