Yoga is often recommended to patients in order to improve their asthma symptoms but new research published in Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology has shown that there is little evidence to support that yoga can benefit asthma patients. A meta-analysis was conducted of 14 previous studies and 824 patients and results showed that yoga was no better than traditional breathing exercises in helping alleviate symptoms. However, experts say that yoga is not harmful to asthma patients and that if it helps make them feel better mentally and physically, they should continue with their routines.
