Older adults who lose their mobility, are at higher risk for illness, being hospitalized and losing the independence to live on their own. A new study examined whether sedentary older adults, who participated in a structured moderate physical activity program, could prevent or delay losing their mobility. The program involved a regimen of walking, stretching, resistance training, and flexibility exercises. Catherine Dolf has more in this week’s JAMA Report.
