More than 50 million people every year are injured in the United States. Significant improvements have been made in surviving severe injuries because of advancements in emergency medical services including life-saving transport of these patients. A new study examines the differences in survival of transporting trauma patients by helicopter compared to ground ambulance. Catherine Dolf explains in this week’s JAMA Report.
