On March 22, 2010 the legendary Stephen Sondheim will turn 80 years old. Known for his award-winning musical scores and lyrics, Sondheim has shaped the Broadway musical landscape for the past several decades, having created classics such as “Into the Woods,” “Sweeney Todd,” and “Sunday in the Park with George.” A host of Broadway performers recently gathered to pay tribute to Sondheim at New York’s Lincoln Center. The event will be televised on PBS, and many more events and performances focusing on Sondheim’s work (such as the new show “Sondheim on Sondheim”) will be happening throughout this year. Keep an eye out – you won’t want to miss them!
