UNC study: new approach promises greater success for predicting drug safety

A new study by David Threadgill, Ph.D., professor of genetics at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill School of Medicine, published online in the May 5, 2009 issue of the journal Genome Research describes a new, more effective and less costly method for testing drugs for potential toxicity and one that could also result in more people benefiting from existing drugs.
