Statin Use in Heart Failure May Reduce Relative Risk of Death

A meta analysis has reported that statin use among patients with heart failure was associated with a decrease in relative risk of death. The researchers conclude it is premature to recommend the routine use of statins for the treatment of patients with heart failure outside of current practice guidelines for the treatment of coronary artery disease.
