A new tool in the fight against Barrett’s Esophagus shows promise. A recent study by Dr. Nicholas Shaheen, director of the University of North Carolina Center for Functional GI and Motility Disorders, published in the May 28, 2009 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine indicates that radiofrequency ablation, or RFA, is helping those whose chronic acid reflux has turned into Barrett’s Esophagus.
