Seizures go unreported by epilepsy patients

This study objective was to evaluate the effects of a daily patient reminder on seizure documentation accuracy in adult inpatients with focal epilepsies undergoing video-electroencephalographic monitoring. In conclusion, patient seizure counts do not provide valid information, due to documentation failures resulting from postictal seizure unawareness, which cannot be avoided by reminders.
