Incorporating elements of telemedicine into a traditional practice can improve a physician’s work-life balance while simultaneously improving their patients’ experiences. There are many patient appointments that don’t necessarily need to be held face-to-face. By offering virtual appointments even once a week, doctors can save on office overhead while also saving patients time and money.

Traveling to a doctor’s office for a routine follow-up that doesn’t require a physical examination is overly cumbersome in this day and age of ubiquitous interconnectivity. Telemedicine offers physicians a way to better utilize (and monetize) the time they spend following up with patients. It also holds promise to improve patient satisfaction by removing some of the obstacles they must hurdle to physically make it to the doctor’s office.
