Too Much Sleep May Be As Harmful As Too Little

According to CBS News, a new study has found connections between health complications and getting both too little and too much sleep. Previous studies have generally confirmed that too little sleep, at least less than six hours, may increase one’s risk for metabolic or cardiovascular problems. However, sleeping longer than ten hours has now been associated with increased risk for stroke. The American Thoracic Society still recommends approximately 7-9 hours per night for optimal health benefits.
