It’s well known that stress can take a toll on your body, including harmful side effects both mental and physical. But negative relationships may be even more dangerous than previously imagined, cutting people’s lives short, an article in Reuters reports. An 11-year study of around 10,000 adults ages 30-59 measured the stress of relationships, in which 4 percent of the men and 6 percent of the women died. Of those who described various stresses and worries from children, the risk of death was 50 percent higher, though not all relationships showed the same statistic. Several studies have already shown the danger of stress and its contribution to an increased risk of death, yet the relationship between harried parents and children proved to be particularly hazardous.
