With daylight saving time looming upon us, many health concerns arise due to the loss of sleep and disruption of sleep pattern, CBS News reports. A study published last year in the journal Open Heart found that the number of heart attacks increased by 25 percent the day after the time change. Doctors recommend taking extra caution while driving due to the fact that sleep deprivation is a major cause of road accidents. Most importantly, make sure not to overdo the exercise. Many people are less active during the winter months, and it is important to get back into a workout routine slowly as pushing too hard can exacerbate underlying heart disease.
