Dr. Alaster Noyce, PhD, MSc, MRCP, MB BS, BMedSci and Prof. Peter Jenner, PhD, D.Sc. appear to agree that the current definition and diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease is in need of change. However, considerable disagreement remains over how and why to make such changes. While some argue that the changes should mainly occur in scientific contexts, others assert that a re-categorization could help patients and physicians pursue more targeted, personalized treatment paths.
