No Serious Side Effects Reported from New Ebola Vaccine Experiment

According to Reuters, the experimental Ebola vaccine co-developed by Merck and NewLink did not have any serious side effects in early trials. Since early November, 34 volunteers have been injected with the VSV-EBOV vaccine, with reported side effects limited to mild fever. In addition to Merck and NewLink, GlaxoSmithKline is also developing a vaccine which has proven similarly safe, while Johnson & Johnson is set to begin trials of its own serum in January.
