The doctor’s office isn’t the only place New Yorkers are taking off their pants. This year, on the second Sunday in January, thousands of ordinary citizens met at several sites around the city to ride the subway together, sans pants. The crowds then converged on Union Square for a huge pantsless party — outdoors! The annual hoedown has become so popular that it has spread around the world and can be found in many cities that boast their own subway systems. The scene is put on by an improvisational comedy group aptly named Improv Everywhere.
