In a study designed to analyze and improve the diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of the immunodeficiency disease-related scoring system in adult patients referred to immunology with clinical suspicion of a primary immunodeficiency, the unmodified score was useful in discriminating between those with and without primary immunodeficiency. Adding seven additional criteria improved the sensitivity and specificity for diagnosis. This modified score could be useful for diagnosis of primary immunodeficiency, but validation in different patient cohorts is required.
