A new medical scanner captures images of the entire body in a single scan. According to its developers, the Explorer device can shed light on the interactions between organ systems, more accurately detect the presence disease, even identify drug side effects.
Researchers hope the device, which works in a similar fashion to the traditional PET scanner, will go into operation next year.
