Hysterectomy Tool Recalled: More Painful Procedures Predicted

Following a recall of a medical tool used for hysterectomies, women will now have to deal with more painful alternatives, an article published by Bloomberg News reports. The devices, known as morcellators, are used to shave uterine tissue into tiny pieces, however, these tools pose an increase risked of spreading cancer. Though these new procedures may mean more pain and longer recovery times, the risk of spreading a malignancy and risking the patient’s life will no longer be a concern.
