Health Law to Cover All Contraceptives

An article in The New York Times reports on the White House’s announcement “that it was moving ahead with a rule requiring most employers to provide free insurance coverage of contraceptives for women.” The rule grants women access to all methods of contraception approved by the Food and Drug Administration, including continuous use oral contraceptives and emergency contraceptives like Plan B One-Step, at no cost. Only certain religious employers, mostly churches, will be exempt. Church affiliated schools, hospitals, and charities are not exempt, however.
