Eating Yogurt and Lowfat Dairy May Combat Against Diabetes

Bloomberg News reports on new research that has shown that in the fight against type 2 diabetes, yogurt may be our biggest ally. The study, published in the European journal, Diabetologia, “compared daily records of food and drink consumption among 753 people who developed type 2 diabetes over 11 years of follow-up with 3,502 randomly selected study participants.” They found that eating yogurt can reduce the risk of getting type 2 diabetes by 28%, compared with consuming none” and that consuming other low-fat dairy products, such as cheese, could also reduce risk of diabetes by almost 25%.
