Does Birth by C-Section Raise Obesity Risk?

An article in The New York Times’ Well blog reports on a new study finding that “birth by cesarean section is associated with being overweight and obese in adult life.” Analyzing a population of 142,702 from 15 studies, researchers found that “Compared with babies delivered vaginally, those delivered by C-section were 26 percent more likely to be overweight and 22 percent more likely to be obese.”
