The birthplace of George Herman “Babe” Ruth, 216 Emory Street in Baltimore, Maryland, is now a museum dedicated to his life and achievements as one of the world’s greatest baseball players. Born in 1895, Babe Ruth went on to become the first real sports celebrity, setting an incredible number of records and captivating the nation with his boisterous personality.

In addition to its collections of pictures, memorabilia and lesser-known facts about Babe Ruth and his career, the Museum also houses the 500 Home Run Club, an exhibit honoring those few baseball players who have managed to hit 500 home runs or more. To this day, Babe Ruth’s record of 714 home runs in regulation games has only been matched by 2 players!
