3,000 U.S. Troops Being Sent to Help Fight Ebola

According to a Reuters article, the United States will send 3,000 troops to Africa to assist in the fight against the Ebola virus. The World Health Organization has stated that it needs at least 10,000 local health workers, in addition to 500-600 medical experts. Other countries that are assisting in the effort include Cuba and China, though aid will only be provided in Sierra Leone, despite the fact that the virus is most rampant in Liberia. The Obama administration has also requested additional funding to help fight the virus and accelerate vaccine and treatment production.
