Grant Campany, Senior Director, Qualcomm Tricorder XPRIZE, outlines the top three ways wearable and ingestible medical sensors can improve patient compliance. According to Campany, wearables help forge a partnership between doctor and patient, helping to measure performance against goals. Another way these technological tools can help improve patient compliance is through providing feedback on performance and real-time interaction outside of the physician’s office. Lastly, these devices build a community among patients, allowing them to create a support system through which they can succeed in improving overall health via a common denominator.
