In an article published in July 9, 2009 issue of The New England Journal of Medicine, Dr. Daniel Clarke-Pearson, chair of the department of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill School of Medicine, reviews the current state of ovarian cancer screening and explains why it should be limited to women with indicators suggesting that they are at high risk ? women with a history of cancer and women over 50 who are symptomatic.
