Trio of Ebola Treatments Set for Clinical Trials in Guinea, Liberia

Clinical trials of three Ebola treatments are set to begin at medical centers in Guinea and Liberia, Reuters reports. Several hundred patients will be tested with Chimerix’s brincidofovir and Fujifilm’s favipiravir, along with experimentation of convalescent serum as a potential cure. The study, which will only involve consenting patients with the disease, hopes to yield initial results as early as February 2015.
