State Budget Officers Report Jump in Medicaid Spending

According to the National Association of State Budget Officers (NASBO), U.S. states are receiving and spending more money on MedicaidReuters reports that Medicaid spending rose to $41.8 billion in the 2014 fiscal year, accounting for 24.2 percent of state funds. The NASBO says that states remain concerned with both short and long-term outcomes, given the volatility of federal fiscal policies.
